Michal: The Rejected Daughter and Wife

Read and Ponder: 2 Samuel 3: 13-16

Ten years have passed and Michal has been without David and adjusted to life with her second husband, but Saul has died and David is king. David has not been loyal in the intervening years and has taken a couple of new wives. In a demonstration of his position, he demands the return of Michal, not because he loves her but in a political show of his power. Again, Michal is used as property.

Questions to Ponder:

  1. Do I let worldviews and practices influence my emotions and actions?
  2. Do I turn from worldviews and practices and rely on God for what I need?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to be less like Michal and more like Leah. Help me avoid bitterness and look toward you as I move through painful life events.

For the Glory of God,

Michal: The Rejected Daughter and Wife

but Saul gave David’s wife Michal, Saul’s own daughter, to Palti, son of Laish, who was from Gallim. (1 Samuel 25:43)

Read and Ponder: 1 Samuel 25: 43

King Saul sees David as an escaped criminal. To punish David and Michal he gives Michal to another in marriage. Again, we see Michal used by the men in her life.

Question to Ponder:

  1. Do I let other people or circumstances have control over my response to my situation?
  2.  Do I turn to God for help in dealing with my situation?

Twelve Pillars Trilogy Update

Palace of Twelve Pillars is still searching for an agent or publisher to pick it up. There are several real possibilities out there. Will keep you updated when I hear anything.

Palace of Three Crosses is in the final edit stage before I get a copy editor.

Sanctuary of Nine Dragons is being revised, edited and expanded as I write this. Of the four if you count Aaron’s Revenge, Sanctuary has been the most challenging, trying to make sure I stay true to the happenings in Aaron’s Revenge as well as folding Aaron’s Revenge into Sanctuary. Besides the more I write the more I see needs changed or added. As always this has been a learning process and just when I think I know it all, I learn something new or ways to improve on a old way of doing things.

God willing this project that has been so close to my heart for many years will soon be in a place where someone other than me and my immediate family can read it’s message and take it to heart.

As I already mentioned there is a brand new project waiting in the wings, waiting to be developed and to carry on the message of it’s predecessor and again God willing we will see the fruition of all of these in coming months and years.

Thank you and God Bless,

Christina Weigand

Michal: The Rejected Daughter and Wife

The same night, Saul sent messengers to David’s house to guard it, that he might kill him in the morning. David’s wife Michal informed him “Unless you save yourself tonight, tomorrow you will be killed.” (1 Samuel 19:11)

Read and Ponder: 1 Samuel 19: 11-17

When Saul plans to have David killed, Michal takes it upon herself to help him escape. She even lied to protect David from capture. Now David abandons her and her father is angry with her.

Question to Ponder:

  1. Michal risked the anger of King Saul to save the man she loved. She showed great courage in the face of great risk to herself. Would I show similar courage for someone I love or let circumstances follow their own course?

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help me to be less like Michal and more like Leah. Help me avoid bitterness and look toward you as I move through painful life events.

May God’s Mercy and Love embrace you,

Christina Weigand
