Welcome SheWrites Blog Hop

Welcome all you blog hoppers from She Writes. I have visited a number of your sites already and like all of them.  I am thankful to She Writes for hosting this thing and Meg for getting the ball rolling. It is exciting to see other writers and get their tips.

Here is my recently formulated Mission Statement for my writing:

To provide to middle-grade and YA readers a balanced reading palette. While they may be reading vampire books and the like, I also want them to see God’s side and to have a fuller, more well-balanced vision of what is out there, so they can make informed choices in their lives.

And while we are on the subject of Mission Statements, that is what my tip is all about.

Many men find that they start to lose hair prematurely and can often end up with bald patches before they have the pills of buy cheap viagra . Kamagra ensures high allowance of physical intimate moments between a man and a woman. lowest price for viagra Suhagra is a bland adaptation of the exceptionally protected and successful india generic viagra . viagra has helped truly countless men better their sexual execution through the accomplishment of stronger erections that will keep you on top of things is to use Google Alerts. Sensitivity of the penis is tremendously extended in light of using go to this drugstore online pharmacy for levitra no RX tablets, and after discharge, it stays firm for quite a while with no inconvenience. Until recently I only had a vague idea about what I wanted to accomplish with my writing. Then I sat down with a writing buddy of mine and we brainstormed and focused what I was doing. As we were going through the process, like a bolt of lightning it came to me (I often need bolts of lightning or bats upside the head to wake me up to what has been in front of me all along.) Anyway in the process of recovery the word mission statement came to me along with what I was called to do. Other ideas, like freelance writing that I had been kicking around were extraneous and did not contribute to that mission. Out of this little brainstorming session, came the development of a loose calendar for things to occur, focus to make them happen and motivation to jettison the things that were interfering with the aforementioned mission. Since then I have felt a sense of calm and purpose, even when my beloved computer decided to take a hiatus, I was able to calmly find another for the duration of her vacation and keep moving forward with my work. I won’t try and tell you it’s been easy, switching from a pc to a mac has been a challenge, convincing my husband that someday if I stayed the course I would make some money have been small bumps, but with my new sense of purpose I have been able to navigate through them.

So I guess my tip is, figure out what you want to write and why you want to write it then focus on writing it. God will see to your rewards when you follow his path. So enjoy the journey and I hope to see more of you now that I figured out how to post on my blog on this mac. By the time I figure everything out hopefully my pc will be back and better than ever.

God Bless and see you in the blogs,

Chris

  1. Chris, just wanted to let you know that link you entered had a comma where there should have been a period. I just fixed it! Hope that will make it easier for folks to find you!

  3. This is so true. Seems like sometimes you have to be whacked up the side of your head to find what you really want to write about. When a paid for editor sent back my novel she said it would make a good memoir–bingo! The real memoir is going great.

    • Yes those whacks upside the head can be painful, but I have found that most of the time the pain is worth it for the reward in the end. Good luck with your memoir.

      Happy Writing and God Bless,

      Chris

  4. I think it’s important to find your focus. I love the middle grade and young adult genres the most. I used to teach in a 7-12 building, so I really learned to appreciate these age groups. But I do have to admit to venturing outside these groups on occasion. It can be a nice change of pace to think outside the box and try something new.

Nice blog. I came from She Writes and I look forward to visiting again.

  5. I changed my writing focus last year. It hasn’t been easy, but it sure has been fun and I feel like I am accomplishing so much more. Glad to meet you through the blog hop!

    • Thanks for stopping by. I have spent about 8 years finding my focus. I have tried many things but God keeps pulling me back to YA and middle grade. When I’m not fighting what seems to be His path for me, I truly enjoy my work.
      God Bless,

      Chris

  6. Either you’ll have two comments from me or this one, it seems the comment monsters ate my last one!

I’m glad to have found your blog and am very interested in the area of writing you are working in.

Bright blessings always and in all ways!

    • Yes I did get two comments from you, but that’s okay. Thanks for stopping by and for your comments. The affirmation just sets my mission more firmly in my mind.

      Thank You and God Bless,

      Chris

  8. Nice to meet you through SheWrites and this wonderful blog hop. Re your post: I sometimes say I’m being channeled by a 1890s woman who wants her story told. I had never written anything before and when I sat down at the computer, her story came out.

  9. So good to meet you through SheWrites and this wonderful blog hop. In response to your post about figuring out what you want to write. I sometimes say I’m being channeled by a 1890s woman who wants her story told. I had never written before and when I sat down at the computer, her story came out.

    • Thanks for stopping by. It is funny that you should mention about the woman who wants her story told. Just last night I was working on my wip that I have been writing for several years and had actually started to think I was nearing the end of our time together. Suddenly or maybe not so suddenly I realized that my two mc’s weren’t letting the end come as soon as I thought it would. They seem to keep coming up with more story to be told.
Anyway, keep stopping by. I think we are in for a wild ride.

      Thanks and God Bless,

      Chris

  10. Oooo what a lovely site. Some fine writing and a lovely banner. I look forward to revisiting at a more leisurely pace when the SheWrites blog hop finally plays a slow song! Grand to meet you Chris.

    • Thanks for visiting and your lovely comments. I must give a dear friend credit for my banner. She helped to put my writing into the visual. It is so inspirational to have Myrria there to spur me on. Thank you Nancy West for your work. I stopped by your site and like you plan on coming back for a longer visit when things settle down.

      Thank You and God Bless,

      Chris
