… so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to hold fast to the hope that lies before us. This we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil, where jesus has entered on our behalf as forerunner, becoming high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 6: 18-20)
Wait, trust and hope in the Lord. Of these three, Trust in God is the glue that holds life together. When we wait for Him to work through us, with our eyes on Him, we show our complete trust in Him. On the other hand if we say we trust and then continue to try and make things go our way, we aren’t really trusting.
When we hope in Christ, we are connecting to our heavenly inheritance. That hope though falls fully on our shoulders and if we don’t trust then we can never hope to recieve our inheritance.
The moral of the story: Build your life in Christ. Wait for Him to move in your life. Trust Him to do the work. Hope for your future with Him.
Dear most gracious and awesome Jesus, I want to trust you, I want to wait on you, I want to hope in you. Give me a strong heart so that when the trials of life become to much for me to bear that I can give you my full trust and let you guide me out of it. May I also turn to you when things are going well and place my trust in you to see that I get what you have planned for me, even if it’s not what I have planned. Thank you for all the times in my life when you have guided me down your path. I know that what you want for me is what’s best for me. Help me to see the wisdom in your heart. I wait on you Lord. I trust you Lord. I hope to be with you in heaven when I reach the end of my earthly existence. All this I pray through your most loving Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
