Trust Him: Skip the Shortcut

God, my Lord, is my strength: he makes my feet swift as those of hinds and enables me to go upon the heights. (Habakkuk 3:19, NAB)

Shortcuts can be a good thing. If you are trying to get somewhere faster, if you want to reach a goal sooner, if the shortcut offers guarantees of a successful result then go for it. However when it comes to our journey with God, He doesn’t want us to take the shortcuts.

There will be ups and downs, storms and clear days, but God wants to lead us through them. He wants our full trust to be placed in Him. He knows that when we hold His hand, follow His lead that the outcome, the blessings we receive will far outweigh the pain of not taking the shortcuts.

So, yes when it comes to getting to the post office faster or nabbing that client then go for the shortcut, but when it comes to following God’s path, leave the shortcuts behind. For peace and happiness with God can only be found in the journey He has planned out for you. He knows the best path. Trust Him.
