This Lent: R is for From Rebellion to Redemption Through Resurrection

The concern of the the flesh is death, but the concern of the spirit is life and peace. (Romans 8:6)

When planning what to write for the the letter R, and in fact for all the letters of the alphabet, was not to take the easy word, the most obvious word for each particular letter. So when R came up of course my first thought jumped to Resurrection. But as I read my morning devotions and enmesh myself in the season, I couldn’t help but not use Resurrection.

God created us in His likeness. He gave us thinking minds and free will.  He gave us the one thing that  could lead us away from Him. Yet He gave it to us, and when we stray, when we Rebel, He waits for us to come back. Because of His death and Resurrection we are Redeemed. He died for us, took on our Rebellion and gave us our Redemption.

Thank you Lord Jesus, for your sacrifices for me a sinner. May I put aside my Rebellious mind and accept the Redemption offered through your Resurrection.

But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you. May those who long for your help always say, “God be glorified!”(Psalm 70:5)

All for the Glory of God,
