This Lent: Give Thanks

Therefore, we who are receiving the unshakable kingdom should have gratitude, with which we should offer worship pleasing to God in reverence and awe. For our God is a consuming fire. (Hebrews 12: 28-29)

No big, heavy-duty message here. Give thanks to God for everything. If it weren’t for God we would have nothing, wouldn’t even be here. We owe it all to him and there is no way we can ever repay Him for what he has done for us, His sinful children. Give thanks with all the awe and reverence you can find within yourself and without. Thank Him for the daffodils, for the children’s laughter, for the tears. Thank Him for your spiritual gifts, for your home, for your family, for the food you eat. Thank Him for the world He has created for you, for the cranky neighbor as well as the pleasant one.

We owe God more than we can ever repay, so the least we can do is Thank Him with our whole heart and soul. Don’t grumble, despise and question His sovereignty. Instead offer up prayers of praise and thanksgiving. Then you can embrace the Light of His Presence in your life.

Most Gracious and Merciful Jesus, Thank You. Amen

All for the Glory of God,

Chris
