This Lent: G is for Guide me God so I May Guide Others

Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into the pit? No disciple is superior to the teacher; but when fully trained, every disciple will be like his teacher. (Luke 6: 39-40)

How many times do I presume to know it all and try to tell it to others. In many ways I am like the blind man, trying to lead another blind man. In my own blindness, I don’t see all that God has to teach me.

Jesus take away my blindness. Open my eyes to Your message, Your love. Guide me on your narrow paths, so I with all Your love and wisdom may Guide others to you, so that they too may come to know Your Glorious Ways

  1. Good point. I still think that many of us can learn things from each other, even if one person does not know it all. If it weren’t for knowledge and the ability to teach others, millions of students would not be graduating with college degrees and high school diplomas each year. Many people know a lot of things, in areas of expertise that are specific to their knowledge, so it would benefit others who do not know these things, to learn from those that do.

For example I do not know how to design a magazine spread on Adobe Illustrator, so I should pay attention to the suggestions of a professional graphic designer who has years of experience with this program.

I know this may not be the point of your post but I just wanted to add that by trying to tell others things that you know yourself, that does not make you a blind man leading another blind man.

    • Thank you for your comments. One thing I never meant to say that you should not share what you know, just that you should be open to God to learn new.

      God Bless,

      Chris
